Leopard Caught in Pune After Causing Fear and Fatalities
A leopard in some villages near Pune, India, had been causing a lot of fear because people thought it had attacked and killed some villagers.
The villagers were very upset and even blocked a highway to ask the forest rangers to catch the animal.
The forest rangers set up many traps and finally caught a leopard.
However, they are still checking to make sure it's the same leopard that caused the deaths.
People want the government to make sure this doesn't happen again.
They are asking for dangerous leopards to be shot, for leopards to be spayed to control their numbers, and for a plan to keep people and leopards safe.
Some politicians are also getting involved and saying the government needs to act.
A leopard suspected of being involved in multiple fatal attacks in Shirur, Khed, and Ambegaon Tehsils of Pune District has been caught.
Villagers protested by blocking the Pune-Nashik Highway, demanding the capture of the leopard and solutions to human-leopard conflict.
