MP Sees 97% Drop in Malaria Cases Over Decade Due to EMBED Initiative
Imagine a sneaky bug called malaria that makes people very sick.
In a state in India called Madhya Pradesh, there used to be lots of people getting sick from this bug.
But, the grown-ups in charge, along with some helpers from companies, started a special plan called EMBED.
This plan worked really hard to stop the bugs.
Now, after 10 years of working on this plan, the number of people getting sick from malaria has gone down by a lot – like 97 out of every 100 sick people are now getting better!
It means many more children are now safe from this sickness.
Some villages are even completely free of malaria now.
This shows that when people work together, they can beat big health problems.
Madhya Pradesh has seen a 97% decrease in malaria cases over the past decade.
This success is attributed to the Elimination of Mosquito-Borne Endemic Diseases (EMBED) initiative.
EMBED is a public-private partnership launched in 2015, supported by GCPL and FHI.
The initiative has helped over 3,047 villages and slums achieve malaria-free status.
The state aims to eliminate malaria entirely by 2030 as part of India's national program.
