Prince Andrew May Get New Title and Hyphenated Name Amid Epstein Probe
Prince Andrew, the King of England's brother, might get a new name and title.
He recently lost his prince title and had to leave his home because of his friendship with a man accused of bad things named Jeffrey Epstein.
Now, people are talking about changing his last name from Andrew Mountbatten Windsor to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, by adding a little dash.
This might happen because the late Queen Elizabeth II had ideas about names, and there's a rule from long ago that allows this.
Even though he lost his special prince title, some people are still calling him by his last name, Mr. Mountbatten Windsor, and he no longer gets the special bows he used to receive.
Prince Andrew may be given a new title and a hyphenated surname, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The potential name change is reportedly in line with the wishes of the late Queen Elizabeth II and follows a 1960 Privy Council Declaration.
Andrew's official name was changed to Andrew Mountbatten Windsor without a hyphen on October 30.
He was stripped of his royal titles and evicted from his residence by King Charles III due to his association with Jeffrey Epstein.
Upon returning to Windsor Castle, Prince Andrew noticed a lack of customary bows and that some people referred to him as Mr. Mountbatten Windsor instead of Your Royal Highness.
