Rallis India Partners with Paryan for Herbicide-Tolerant Rice Technology
Rallis India, a farming company, is teaming up with another company called Paryan to bring a new way of growing rice to India.
This new method is called FullPage and it uses special seeds that can tolerate a certain type of weed killer.
This means farmers can spray a weed killer to get rid of weeds without hurting their rice plants.
This new system helps save water because farmers can plant seeds directly in the soil instead of transplanting them, which also uses less labor and reduces pollution.
Rice is a very important crop in India, but it's hard to grow because of not enough water, expensive help, and lots of weeds.
FullPage aims to make growing rice easier, more productive, and better for the environment.
They will start testing it with some farmers in 2026.
Rallis India, a Tata enterprise, has partnered with Paryan to introduce FullPage herbicide-tolerant rice technology in India.
FullPage integrates advanced herbicide-tolerant seeds, crop protection solutions, and agronomic practices for rice cultivation.
The technology supports direct-seeded rice, aiming to reduce water usage, lower methane emissions, and improve resource efficiency.
Pilot demonstrations and limited commercial sales are scheduled to begin from the Kharif season of 2026.
This initiative aims to help Indian farmers overcome challenges like water scarcity, high labor costs, and weed management in rice cultivation.
