Naga Guard Killed, CRPF Injured in Manipur Counter‑Insurgency
A young Naga guard named Lanbimei Riamei was shot and died during a police operation in Manipur.
Two CRPF soldiers were also hurt but are okay.
The police said they were looking for a training camp for the guard group.
A local council said the police worked with a group called ZUF‑J and wanted the government to act.
They shut down roads and projects in some tribal areas until the government does something.
Naga village guard Lanbimei Riamei was killed during a counter‑insurgency operation in Manipur’s Noney district.
Two CRPF CoBRA Battalion personnel, Head Constable Radheshyam and Constable Jitendra Kumar, were injured but are in stable condition.
The operation targeted an alleged Naga Village Guard training camp in Biting village, following intelligence inputs.
The Joint Tribes Council of Manipur condemned the operation, alleging collusion with ZUF‑J and demanding decisive action.
