NCP Factions Unite for Maharashtra Elections
There is a political party in India called NCP.
It split into two groups two years ago because of some disagreements.
One group is led by Sharad Pawar, and the other by his nephew, Ajit Pawar.
Now, both groups want to come back together.
They have decided to work as one team for an upcoming local election.
Ajit Pawar, who is also the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, said that all the family tensions have been resolved.
The workers of both groups also want to unite.
There were some rumors that Sharad Pawar's group might join the state government, but his daughter, Supriya Sule, said those rumors are not true.
The two factions will also unveil a joint manifesto for the Pune Municipal Corporation elections.
NCP's two factions, led by Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar, have decided to unite for the Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation election.
Ajit Pawar claims that all family tensions have been resolved and workers from both factions want to reunite.
The NCP split two years ago, with Ajit Pawar's faction joining the NDA and taking the 'clock' symbol, while Sharad Pawar's faction became NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) with a 'trumpet' symbol.
Supriya Sule, Sharad Pawar's daughter, confirmed the unity for the upcoming polls but did not comment on future alliances.
Sule dismissed rumors about her faction joining the BJP-led state government and her becoming a minister.
