Security Forces Target Kuki Insurgents in Manipur
Security forces in Manipur conducted a big operation to find and stop insurgents in the forests of Churachandpur district.
They used helicopters to reach the area and worked together to target the hideouts of a group called the United Kuki National Army (UKNA).
This group is not part of a peace agreement with the government, and the operation was part of ongoing efforts to maintain peace in the region.
Earlier, in November 2025, four members of the UKNA were killed in a similar operation after they were involved in violent activities, including killing a village chief and intimidating locals.
The government is trying to control the situation and prevent further violence.
Security forces conducted large-scale anti-insurgency operations in Churachandpur district using helicopters.
The operation targeted suspected hideouts of the United Kuki National Army (UKNA), a non-signatory to the SoO agreement.
The area is known for the presence of the UKNA, which has been involved in violent activities.
Four UKNA terrorists were killed in a previous operation on November 4, 2025, following atrocities including the killing of a village chief.
The SoO agreement involves 24 insurgent groups and requires them to stay in designated camps with monitored weapons storage.
