New CGHS Guidelines for Central Govt Employees
The government has announced new rules for the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS).
Starting December 15, 2025, all hospitals currently working with CGHS must re-apply online and agree to new prices and conditions.
If they don't, they will be removed from the list.
This change aims to make things fairer and clearer for both hospitals and the people using the scheme, like government employees and pensioners.
Hospitals have 90 days to sign new agreements.
For a short time, some people might face service disruptions if hospitals delay their renewal.
Overall, the goal is to improve healthcare services and keep costs under control.
New CGHS guidelines effective from 15 December 2025, requiring hospitals to re-apply and agree to revised rates.
Existing agreements with private hospitals will be cancelled and must be renewed within 90 days.
Hospitals must submit an undertaking by 15 December 2025 to confirm agreement with new rates and conditions.
Beneficiaries may experience temporary service disruptions if hospitals delay renewal but expect improved services and smoother processes.
2025 has seen several CGHS updates, including expanded cashless treatment, paperless authorisation, and higher penalties for hospitals.
