Ugandan President Admits Arresting Missing Kenyan Activists
Imagine two friends from Kenya, Bob and Nicholas, who were in Uganda.
They disappeared for about five weeks!
Recently, the President of Uganda, Yoweri Museveni, finally said what happened.
He admitted that his government arrested Bob and Nicholas because he thought they were good at causing riots.
He said they were kept safe but hidden for a few days, which he called being 'in the fridge.'
After some leaders from Kenya talked to President Museveni, he let Bob and Nicholas go.
When they came back to Kenya, they said it was a difficult time and they were abducted by the military.
Kenya's Foreign Minister helped with the talks to get them released.
Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni confirmed the arrest and detention of two missing Kenyan activists, Bob Njagi and Nicholas Oyoo.
Museveni described the activists as 'experts in riots' and stated they were held 'in the fridge for some days'.
The activists had been missing for five weeks and were allegedly forced into a car by masked uniformed men after supporting Ugandan opposition leader Bobi Wine.
Their release followed diplomatic engagement initiated by Kenyan leaders, including Foreign Minister Musalia Mudavadi.
Njagi and Oyoo were welcomed back by supporters in Nairobi, Kenya, describing their experience as an abduction by the military.
Museveni also warned foreign groups against stirring up trouble in Uganda.
