Govt Streamlines CGHS Pensioner Card Process
Retiring central government employees in India now have a new, easier way to apply for their CGHS pensioner cards.
The government has linked the CGHS online system with the Bhavishya portal, which is used for pension processing.
This means employees can fill out most of the forms on the Bhavishya portal instead of entering the same information again on a separate platform.
The new system uses PAN as a unique identifier and allows for online payment of the CGHS contribution.
Once the Head of Office verifies the pension forms, the CGHS pensioner card can be generated and downloaded from either portal.
The government hopes this will make the retirement process smoother and faster.
However, the existing online application process through the CGHS portal will still be available for those who prefer it.
Retiring central government employees can now apply for CGHS pensioner cards through an integrated digital process.
The Bhavishya portal and CGHS online system have been linked to reduce paperwork and streamline the application process.
PAN serves as the unique identifier for real-time validation and information exchange between the portals.
The new system aims to reduce procedural delays and minimize manual intervention.
The existing online application process through the CGHS portal will continue to be operational.
