Mizoram Assembly Pays Tribute to Former Minister F Malsawma

The Mizoram Assembly remembered former minister F Malsawma after his death.

Chief Minister Lalduhoma spoke about Malsawma’s work in politics and the church.

Malsawma became involved in politics in 1975 after leaving his teaching job.

He was first elected to the Assembly in 1978.

At age 30, he became a minister and was described as the youngest minister in India at that time.

He also gave up his cabinet position in 1983 to help create better conditions for peace.

Another leader said he helped establish important public institutions and support for farmers.

Assembly members observed a minute of silence in his memory.
