Congress Plans Local Issues Strategy After Datia Bypoll Victory
Congress is a political party in India that helps run the country.
It just won a special election in a place called Datia, in the state of Madhya Pradesh.
Winning made the party very happy and confident.
Now Congress wants to win the next big election in Madhya Pradesh.
They believe the best way is to listen to people about local problems, like roads, water, and schools.
Party leaders met in Delhi to make a plan for this.
They will meet again in Bhopal on August 11 to share the plan.
The party also wants to hold a big peaceful protest in Indore.
They are upset because they say the state government is being unfair to their state leader, Jitu Patwari, and his family.
A famous leader named Rahul Gandhi might join the protest.
Energised by its Datia bypoll victory, the Congress has decided to focus on local issues to oust the BJP from power in the next Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections.
The party's strategy will be outlined at a Political Affairs Committee (PAC) meeting in Bhopal on August 11.
A major protest is planned in Indore against the state government's actions targeting MP Congress chief Jitu Patwari, which Rahul Gandhi may attend.
The decision was made after key state leaders met Congress General Secretary K C Venugopal in Delhi.
District Congress committee presidents, district in-charges and assembly in-charges have been instructed to identify local issues of public concern and raise them through the organisation.
