Centre Urges More Women, SC/ST Officers for Central Roles

The central government has asked all states to send more women officers and those from Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities for important jobs in the central government.

These jobs include positions like Chief Vigilance Officers, who help prevent corruption.

The government wants these officers to be available for at least two years.

If a state takes back an officer's name after it has been recommended, that officer cannot be considered for central jobs for five years.

Starting in 2026, all nominations will be done through a special online system.

This is to make sure that more diverse groups of people get important jobs and to help the government work better.
