Delhi Deploys Heavy Security Ahead of CJP Jantar Mantar Protest

The Cockroach Janta Party planned a protest at Jantar Mantar on October 10.

The party wants Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar to resign over claims about changes to voter lists.

Delhi Police did not give permission, saying the request was made too late and citing concerns about an earlier protest.

About 25,000 police and paramilitary personnel were deployed around the city.

Some entrances and exits at 45 Metro stations were restricted, and several trains were reported cancelled for part of the day.

Police also checked vehicles and kept watch at transport hubs and online.

Officials said these steps were meant to maintain order and prevent unlawful gatherings.

People travelling were advised to check official updates and plan ahead.
