JLKM Leader Mahto Seeks Nod to Return to Protest Site

A man named Devendra Mahto is very upset about tests that people take to get government jobs.

He believes those tests were not fair.

To show how serious he is, he stopped eating food.

He has not eaten for 11 days now, which is called a hunger strike.

He got sick from not eating, so doctors took him to a hospital called Sadar Hospital.

Even though he is in the hospital, he wants to go back to the stadium where he and others are protesting.

He wrote a letter to a health official asking for permission to leave the hospital and rejoin the protest.

Many students are also protesting with him because they think the tests were unfair, and they have been doing so for 19 days.

Mahto says his body is being treated in the hospital, but his heart is still with the students at the protest site.
