Transparent Draws Begin for Telangana Indiramma Tower Homes
Telangana is building Indiramma Towers to give homes to eligible poor families.
The government is choosing applicants through public lucky draws.
Officials say caste, religion, and politics will not affect the selection.
The draws are held with applicants and the media watching.
The process is also shown live on social media.
In each constituency, 600 people are selected for 480 homes.
Officials then check whether the selected people really qualify.
If someone is not eligible, another eligible person from the remaining group can receive the home.
The government says the homes will be about 525 square feet and registered without charge.
Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said Indiramma Towers beneficiaries will be selected solely on eligibility, regardless of caste, religion, or political affiliation.
Lucky draws were held for Nampally, Quthbullapur, Secunderabad, and Rajendranagar Assembly constituencies in Hyderabad.
Draws for approximately 8,000 flats across 16 constituencies will continue through August 31, covering four constituencies daily.
In each constituency, 600 applicants will be shortlisted for 480 flats, followed by field verification and possible replacement from the remaining 120.
Each allotted home will measure about 525 square feet, include a 17-to-20-square-yard undivided land share, and be registered free of cost.
