X User Challenges Metro Deadline
A person on X (formerly Twitter) made a bet with the people in charge of the Pune Metro.
They said if the new metro line from Hinjawadi to Shivajinagar is ready by March 2026, they will walk without a shirt on University Road.
The metro line is supposed to be 23.3 km long and has 23 stations.
Right now, it's 90% done, but the person says there's a lot of mess and no parking or bridges for people to walk.
Some people who work in the area also want the metro to open soon because there's too much traffic.
The people in charge say it will be ready on time.
An X user challenged the PMRDA to walk shirtless on University Road if the Hinjawadi-Shivajinagar Metro line is operational by March 2026.
The 23.3 km elevated metro line is 90% complete and has 23 stations.
The user criticized the current state of the construction, citing unattended debris, lack of parking, and no footover bridges.
The Forum of IT Employees (FITE) demanded a phased opening of the metro line to ease traffic congestion for IT employees.
PMRDA Commissioner Dr. Yogesh Mhase assured that the metro line will be operational by the deadline.
