Telangana High Court Dismisses 15-Year Corruption Case
The Telangana High Court recently decided to throw out a 15-year-old corruption case against a professor at a military college in Hyderabad.
The professor, named Huliyurudurga Nanjappa Suresh, was accused of asking for a bribe to pass a student.
The court said the investigation was not done properly and decided to let the professor go.
The court's decision was made on December 9, 2025, and it overturned an earlier order from January 2022.
The professor was a Group ‘A’ Professor at the Military College of Electronics and Mechanical Engineering (MCEME).
The student had complained that the professor asked for Rs 2 lakh to pass him in a subject called Mechanical Vibration.
During the investigation, Rs 45,000 was found, which was allegedly given to the professor.
The judge, Justice E V Venugopal, said the investigation was not done correctly and that the professor should not be punished.
The Telangana High Court quashed a 15-year-old corruption case against a professor at MCEME.
Justice E V Venugopal ruled that the investigation was conducted without lawful authority.
The petitioner, Huliyurudurga Nanjappa Suresh, was accused of demanding a bribe of Rs 2 lakh.
The court ordered the discharge of the petitioner, overturning a 2022 order by the IIIrd Additional Special Judge for CBI Cases.
An inquiry recovered Rs 45,000 allegedly given to the petitioner.
