The Enforcement Directorate has taken control of 17 properties in Daman and Valsad.

The properties are worth about Rs 6.52 crore.

The action is part of a money-laundering investigation involving businessman Suresh Jagubhai Patel and others.

Investigators say Patel used threats and criminal power to control scrap trading and transport services in Daman.

Police cases linked to the investigation include allegations such as murder, extortion, forgery and illegal firearms possession.

The ED says assets worth Rs 13.85 crore have now been seized, attached or frozen in the case.

In a separate investigation, officials searched places connected to Nimar Agro Park in Madhya Pradesh.

They seized documents and digital devices and froze four bank lockers.
