Adverse weather alert for flood-prone Poonch, Rajouri districts
There's a weather alert for Poonch and Rajouri districts in Jammu and Kashmir.
These places have had a lot of rain recently, and the soil can't absorb much more water.
This makes it easier for landslides and floods to happen.
The Kishenganga River is also rising, so people are being told to stay away from the riverbanks.
There have been some cloudbursts that damaged houses and farms.
The weather is expected to get worse in the next two days, so everyone needs to be careful and follow the advice from the authorities.
Poonch and Rajouri districts in J&K are at high risk of weather-related damage in the next 48 hours due to heavy rainfall and soil saturation.
The Kishenganga River water level has surged, prompting authorities to advise tourists and local tent colony owners to vacate riverbanks.
Recent cloudbursts in Zedgai and Achoora villages caused damage to houses and agricultural land.
The Meteorological Department warns of increased risks of landslides, mudslides, and flash floods due to the Western Disturbance expected in the next two days.
Authorities are monitoring the situation and have deployed assessment teams to evaluate the extent of the damage.
