Adani Total Gas Reports 9% Net Profit Fall Amid Rising Input Costs
Adani Total Gas, a company that provides natural gas for cars and homes, saw its profit go down by 9% even though it sold more gas and made more money overall.
This happened because the cost of the gas they buy went up a lot.
They had to use more expensive gas because they got less of the cheaper, government-allocated gas.
To manage this, they only passed on some of the higher costs to their customers.
Despite these challenges, the company still managed to increase its sales volumes and revenue.
They also reached a milestone of over 1 million homes using their piped gas and have 662 stations selling CNG.
The company is using technology to improve its operations.
Adani Total Gas Ltd reported a 9% decrease in net profit for the second quarter, falling to Rs 162 crore.
Revenue from operations increased by 19% to Rs 1,569 crore in the same period.
Input gas prices rose by 26% due to a lower allocation of cheaper APM gas and increased reliance on expensive alternatives.
The company sold 18% more CNG and 11% more piped natural gas, with overall volume growth at 16%.
Piped cooking gas connections surpassed 1 million, and the number of CNG stations reached 662.
