Hyundai Unveils AI Chips for Robots at CES Foundry 2026
Hyundai showed a new AI chip for robots at a big tech event called CES Foundry 2026.
This chip helps robots think and make decisions on their own, even when there's no strong internet connection.
It uses very little power and is being tested in places like Seoul.
Hyundai worked with other tech companies to make this chip and plans to use it in robots for hospitals, hotels, and other places.
They want to make 30,000 robots a year by 2030 to help with problems like not having enough workers and keeping people safe.
Hyundai unveiled an on-device AI chip for robots at CES Foundry 2026 in Las Vegas.
The chip, developed over three years with DeepX, operates at under 5 watts and enables real-time decision-making for robots.
Field tests of the AI controller have been ongoing since June 2024 in Seoul, with plans to deploy the chip in mass-produced robots this year.
Hyundai aims to expand the use of these robots to hospitals, hotels, and other commercial settings by 2030.
The initiative is part of Hyundai's strategy to address societal challenges like labor shortages and aging populations through reliable, autonomous robots.
