Delhi to Ban Fuel for Old Vehicles Starting July 1
Starting July 1st, Delhi is making it harder for old cars to drive around to help clean the air.
They won't sell fuel to cars older than 10 years for diesel and 15 years for petrol.
Cameras at gas stations will check car license plates to find these old vehicles.
If a car is too old, it won't get fuel.
The government hopes this will reduce air pollution and make Delhi's air cleaner, especially for kids and the elderly.
Gas station workers will also help by reporting any old cars that try to get fuel.
Delhi will stop fuel supply to old vehicles starting July 1.
The Transport Department, Traffic Police, and MCD will work together to identify high-traffic zones for overage vehicles.
ANPR cameras at 498 fuel stations will identify overage vehicles.
Fuel station staff will deny fuel and report instances to the Transport Department.
The plan aims to improve air quality by reducing pollution from older vehicles.
