Phaltan Doctor's Suicide Note Verified; Harassment Claims Confirmed

A doctor from a government hospital in Phaltan, Maharashtra, was found dead in a hotel in October.

She had written a note on her hand, accusing a police officer and a software engineer of harassing her.

The chief minister of Maharashtra said that the handwriting in the note was confirmed to be hers.

The police officer is accused of sexually exploiting her, and the software engineer is accused of cheating her.

The government has ordered a judicial inquiry to look into the case further.

The chief minister also said that the government is committed to women's safety and will assist the doctor's family.
