Delhi Police Enhances Security for Republic Day
The Delhi Police and other security forces are working hard to keep everyone safe during Republic Day 2026.
They are doing extra patrols, checking vehicles, and using special technology like smart glasses and facial recognition to watch for any problems.
In Kashmir, there are three layers of security around the main stadium where the big event will happen.
The Delhi Metro will start early on Republic Day to help people get around more easily.
All these steps are to make sure the celebrations are safe and fun for everyone.
Delhi Police has deployed over 30,000 personnel citywide, with 10,000 in the New Delhi district alone for Republic Day 2026.
Advanced technology such as 3,000 CCTV cameras with facial recognition and AI-enabled glasses are being used to enhance surveillance and threat detection.
The Delhi Metro will commence services at 3:00 am on January 26, 2026, with trains operating at 15-minute intervals until 6:00 am to accommodate increased travel needs.
Stringent security measures include multiple checkpoints, barricades, and the deployment of police and paramilitary personnel, especially around key venues like Bakshi Stadium in Kashmir.
A full dress rehearsal of the Republic Day event was conducted in Kashmir under extreme security measures to ensure preparedness.
