Western Railway Surpasses ₹300 Crore in Scrap Sales
Western Railway is doing a great job cleaning up and selling old, unused stuff.
Think of it like cleaning out your garage and selling things you don't need anymore.
They have sold so much old railway equipment, like train tracks and old train parts, that they have made over 300 crore rupees!
This is part of a special plan called 'Mission Zero Scrap'.
This plan helps them use resources better, keep the environment clean, and run their trains more efficiently.
They even did this faster than last year and have joined another railway group that also made this much money from selling scrap.
Everyone in their different stations and depots helped make this happen by finding and selling all the old materials.
Western Railway has exceeded ₹300 crore in scrap sales for the financial year 2025-26.
This achievement under 'Mission Zero Scrap' is nearly 21% above the Railway Board's target.
Western Railway achieved this milestone ahead of its previous year's record.
The railway zone has joined the '₹300 crore club' in scrap sales, alongside South Central Railway.
Materials sold include rails, old locomotives, coaches, wheels, and wagons.
