USS Abraham Lincoln ends record 266-day West Asia mission

The USS Abraham Lincoln is a huge ship that carries airplanes and thousands of sailors.

It sailed far away to West Asia, a region near the Middle East.

While it was there, the United States was having a tense time with Iran, so the carrier stayed to help.

The ship was away from home for 266 days, which is a very long time.

During about 200 of those days, it was inside a combat zone.

That means the sailors and Marines on board worked under danger for months.

Many people started to wonder if the crew was getting too tired, because keeping a ship at sea that long is really hard.

Some said the situation was a crisis, but the United States said that was not true.

Now the mission is over and the ship is finally heading home.
