Daycare Chemotherapy Centers Open in Mangaluru, Udupi Hospitals
Two hospitals in Mangaluru and Udupi have opened special centers where people can get chemotherapy during the day.
The services are available at the Government Wenlock Hospital in Mangaluru and the District Government Hospital in Udupi.
These hospitals are among 16 government hospitals in the state that have started this service.
The new facilities will offer chemotherapy free of charge to patients under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
The goal is to make it easier for patients to receive cancer treatment without needing to stay overnight.
Daycare chemotherapy services launched at Government Wenlock Hospital, Mangaluru and District Government Hospital, Udupi.
The services were virtually launched across 16 government hospitals in the State.
KMC Hospital, Mangaluru, will provide services at Wenlock Hospital.
Chemotherapy will be provided free of cost under Ayushman Bharat scheme.
Udupi hospital has an oncologist since October 2024; 32 patients have undergone surgeries.
