Goa Declared Fully Literate, Reaching 100% Literacy Rate
Goa has become a place where almost everyone can read and write.
This means that almost everyone in Goa now has these essential skills.
It happened because the government, schools, and local groups worked together.
They helped people learn, reaching nearly 100% literacy!
This achievement was celebrated on Goa's Statehood Day.
It shows that by working together, a whole state can succeed.
Goa is now the fourth state in India to reach this goal.
Goa achieved 100% literacy on May 31, 2025, becoming the fourth Indian state to do so.
The milestone was recognized under the Ullas – New India Literacy Programme.
Goa surpassed the 95% literacy benchmark, reaching 99.7%.
The achievement resulted from collaborative efforts by the government, local bodies, and educational institutions.
