10,000 Electric Tippers to Boost Garbage Collection: CMC
In Hyderabad, city leaders have decided to make trash collection much better.
They are bringing in 10,000 small electric trucks called swachh auto tippers.
These trucks will pick up garbage from houses in the city's Core Urban Region.
Each truck will help about 450 to 500 homes.
A special QR code on the trucks will help officials see how much trash is collected.
This way, they can check that payments match the services people get.
That makes the system fair and clear for everyone.
The city also wants to be friendly to children.
They will work with UNICEF to build parks and public spaces that kids will enjoy.
Children will also learn what services they should expect from their city.
Cyberabad Municipal Corporation will deploy 10,000 electric swachh auto tippers (e-SATs) in the Core Urban Region (CURE) of Hyderabad.
Each e-SAT will cater to 450-500 households for door-to-door garbage collection.
The system will be digitised through QR code-based monitoring to track garbage amounts and match user payments with service delivery.
Commissioner G. Srijana said digitisation will enhance transparency and accountability in solid waste management.
CMC will sign a memorandum of understanding with UNICEF to make the corporation children-friendly, including urban infrastructure, public spaces, and civic amenities.
