Rajasthan Police Lured Wanted Trafficker from Nepal to Bihar
Police in Rajasthan were looking for a man named Sohanlal, whom they accused of drug trafficking.
They said he had been hiding in Nepal and was wanted in a case from 2020.
Officers pretended to be buyers interested in a large drug deal.
They first planned to meet him near a temple in Kathmandu.
When he did not arrive, officers disguised themselves near the temple and looked for him.
They eventually persuaded him to travel to Raxaul, a border town in Bihar, to collect money.
Police arrested him after he crossed into India.
Police said this was the task force’s first arrest of a wanted person who had fled abroad.
Rajasthan Police said its Anti-Narcotics Task Force arrested Sohanlal at the Raxaul border in Bihar on October 10.
Police said Sohanlal, 32, had been wanted for six years and carried a reward of Rs 75,000.
Undercover officers posed as Punjab-based drug buyers and arranged to meet him near Kathmandu’s Pashupatinath temple.
After spotting him near the temple, officers persuaded him to travel to Raxaul to collect an alleged advance payment.
Police said he was wanted in a 2020 NDPS Act case and had fled to Nepal in October 2025.
