Mumbai's New Carnac Bridge Set to Open Next Week
Mumbai's new Carnac Bridge is almost ready to open!
It replaces the old bridge that was taken down because it was unsafe.
Workers are finishing up by adding lights and signs.
Before the bridge opens next week, they will test it on June 13th to make sure it's strong enough.
This new bridge will help connect different parts of the city, like the original one built nearly a century ago.
New Carnac Bridge is nearly complete after demolition of the original in 2022.
A load test will be performed on June 13th to assess safety.
Final touches, including street lights and direction boards, are being installed.
The bridge is expected to open to traffic next week.
The original bridge, built in 1922, connected eastern and western Mumbai.
