Delhi Airport Airspace Closure for Republic Day
Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) will have airspace restrictions from January 21 to January 29.
On January 26, non-scheduled flights cannot take off or land between 8:30 am and 1 pm, and again from 3 pm to 6 pm.
On January 29, the restrictions will be from 3 pm to 7 pm.
These restrictions are because of Republic Day events and the Beating the Retreat ceremony.
IGIA is a very busy airport with about 1,300 flights every day.
The restrictions are to ensure safety and smooth conduct of these important events.
Over 600 flights are expected to be affected daily, with many seeing time changes or passenger re-accommodation.
