UK Cabinet Reshuffle: Indian-Origin MPs Gain Prominence

The UK Prime Minister, Andy Burnham, has made some big changes in his government team.

Three MPs who come from Indian families have been given important jobs.

Kanishka Narayan is now the Minister for Artificial Intelligence.

Satvir Kaur will work on making sure everyone is treated equally.

Harpreet Uppal will help make sure all the MPs do what they are supposed to do.

Lisa Nandy, who has Indian roots, keeps her job as Culture Secretary.

Uma Kumaran, who is from Sri Lanka but has Indian roots, is now a junior minister in the Foreign Office.

Two other MPs with Indian roots, Seema Malhotra and Preet Kaur Gill, are no longer in the main government team.

This shows that more people from different backgrounds are getting important jobs in the government.
