MRF's Journey from Balloons to Tyre Giant

MRF's Journey from Balloons to Tyre Giant

MRF started as a small balloon business in Chennai in 1946.

The founder, K.M. Mammen Mappillai, began by making toy balloons and latex products.

As the business grew, MRF entered the tread rubber market and quickly captured nearly 50% of India's market share.

In 1961, MRF started making tyres with the help of a US company.

The company focused on making tyres that worked well on Indian roads, which helped it become a trusted brand.

MRF also introduced the Muscleman logo and sponsored cricket and motorsports to build its brand.

Today, MRF is India's largest tyre manufacturer, with products exported to many countries.

Its share price is very high, showing strong investor confidence.
