JSW Steel and POSCO to Develop 6 MTPA Steel Plant in India
JSW Steel from India and South Korea's POSCO are teaming up to build a big steel factory in India.
They've signed a preliminary agreement after a previous one last year.
The factory could make 6 million tons of steel each year.
They will study where to build it, how much it will cost, and where they'll get the materials.
If everything works out, the factory will be a partnership between the two companies, combining JSW's experience and POSCO's steel-making know-how.
They are considering Odisha as a possible place to build the factory.
JSW Steel and POSCO signed a heads of agreement to build a 6 MTPA steel plant in India.
The plant will likely be located in Odisha, but the location is still under study.
The agreement follows an MoU signed in October 2024.
The project is a 50:50 joint venture if finalized.
A detailed feasibility study will determine the plant's specifics.
