Delhi HC issues notice to CBI in IRCTC hotel scam case
The Delhi High Court has asked the CBI to respond to a request made by Rabri Devi, the former Chief Minister of Bihar.
She is asking the court to reconsider some serious charges that were filed against her and her family in a case about a hotel scam.
The scam happened a long time ago when her husband, Lalu Prasad Yadav, was the Railway Minister.
The court will hear more about this case on January 19.
Rabri Devi says the charges were filed without proper evidence.
Her son, Tejashwi Yadav, has also asked the court to reconsider similar charges against him.
The case involves allegations of giving hotel leases without following the rules and getting land through a secret company.
Delhi High Court issued notice to CBI on Rabri Devi's plea challenging the framing of charges in the IRCTC hotel scam case.
The trial court had framed charges against Rabri Devi, her family members, and other accused under Sections 420 and 120B of IPC and the Prevention of Corruption Act.
Rabri Devi contended that the trial court erroneously framed charges based on presumptions without properly appreciating the material on record.
The next hearing in the case is scheduled for January 19, 2026.
Similar pleas have been filed by Tejashwi Yadav and Lalu Prasad Yadav challenging the framing of charges against them in the same case.
