Mumbai: Western Railway Cancels Services for Kandivali Megablock
Imagine some train tracks needed to be fixed, so workers closed them down!
This happened in Mumbai on the Western Railway lines.
They were taking down an old ticket office.
Because of this, many local trains were cancelled for a couple of days.
Some long-distance trains also had to change where they started or ended their journeys, or they didn't run on part of their route.
This was to help make sure the trains can run safely and to make the railway better!
47 Western Railway suburban services were cancelled due to a megablock at Kandivali.
The block was implemented to dismantle the elevated booking office at Kandivali Yard.
The block on the 5th line and yard lines began Saturday afternoon and lasted until Monday.
Suburban and Mail Express trains ran on fast lines during the block.
Four long-distance trains were either short-terminated or partially cancelled.
