Kalwa Hospital Gives HPV Vaccine to 818 in One Day

A hospital in Kalwa held a one-day HPV vaccination camp.

HPV is a virus that can cause some cancers.

The hospital vaccinated 818 people, its highest single-day total for an HPV drive, according to organisers.

About 250 people who are part of the transgender and LGBTQ+ community received vaccines.

The organisers said they wanted preventive healthcare to reach people who may be left out of usual health campaigns.

Several medical and community organisations helped run the camp.

The Aditya Birla Capital Foundation provided financial support.

A participant said staff treated beneficiaries with dignity and respect.
