Denmark Updates Income Statistics for Foreign Workers
Denmark has updated the income statistics that will be used to evaluate the salaries of foreign workers applying for residence and work permits.
Starting January 1, 2026, the income statistics from the third quarter of 2025 will be used.
This means that if you apply for a work permit after December 31, 2025, your salary will be checked to make sure it meets Danish standards.
The standards include fixed salary, payments to pension schemes, and holiday allowance.
If your job is on the Positive List for Skilled Work, you can apply for a permit based on that.
The permit's duration depends on how long your employment is.
If your job is not covered by a collective agreement, your salary will be assessed up to approximately DKK 74,958.
Denmark's immigration department has updated income statistics for evaluating foreign workers' salaries, effective January 1, 2026.
The updated statistics are based on data from the third quarter of 2025 and will apply to applications made after December 31, 2025.
Foreign workers must ensure their salary meets Danish standards, including fixed salary, pension scheme payments, and holiday allowance.
The Positive List for Skilled Work allows foreign workers in shortage professions to apply for residence and work permits.
Permit duration depends on the length of employment, with permits for 4 years or more typically valid for 4 years.
