Brazil Soccer Halts Red Jersey Production Due to Politics
The head of Brazil's soccer team decided the team wouldn't wear a red jersey.
People complained because red is the color of the current political party.
The team's boss said the team should only use colors from the Brazilian flag: blue, yellow, green, and white.
The company making the jerseys, Nike, agreed to make a blue one instead.
The decision to use red initially happened before the new boss took over.
CBF President Samir Xaud halted production of the red away jersey for the Brazilian national team.
The decision followed criticism linking the color red to Brazil's ruling party.
Xaud stated that only the colors of the Brazilian flag (blue, yellow, green, and white) should be used.
Nike agreed to stop production of the red jersey and will make a blue away shirt instead.
The red jersey production began under the previous CBF president.
