Shabana Azmi Urges Mumbai Protest Over Voter List Concerns

The planned protest was scheduled for October 2 at Shivaji Park.
She said voting is important because it lets people help choose the country’s future.
She raised concerns about people’s names disappearing from voter lists.
The Cockroach Janta Party, or CJP, organized the protest campaign.
The group says many voters may have been removed from electoral rolls.
It wants the Chief Election Commissioner to resign and wants more transparency in election processes.
Mumbai Police said the gathering did not have permission because of public-assembly and traffic rules.
