Manipur Tensions Escalate Over Land and Political Issues

In Manipur, India, there is a lot of tension between two groups, the Naga and the Kuki-Zo.

They live in a place called Kangpokpi.

The Naga people have been blocking a road that the Kuki-Zo use to travel between two areas.

This started because the Kuki-Zo built the road without asking the Naga, who say it's on their ancestral land.

On January 26, some Kuki-Zo houses were burned, and a Naga group said they did it because they thought the houses were used for illegal activities.

Both groups have leaders who met to talk about peace, but they still have disagreements.

The Kuki-Zo want the road blockade to stop, and the Naga don't accept the Kuki-Zo's claims to the land.

Both sides are worried about more violence and are trying to prevent it.

Additionally, students held a rally demanding a political solution before forming a new government.
