Nestle Recalls Infant Formula Globally
Nestle is recalling some of its baby food because it might have a harmful substance called cereulide.
This affects baby food in many countries, but not in India.
The problem is with a special oil used in the food.
No one has gotten sick yet, but Nestle wants to be careful.
Nestle India said that all their baby food in India is made locally and is safe.
This is not the first time Nestle has had problems with baby food.
Before, they had issues with too much sugar in baby food in other parts of the world and a big problem with a harmful chemical called melamine in China in 2008.
Nestle is recalling infant formula batches in 25 countries due to potential cereulide toxin contamination.
Affected products include Guigoz, Nidal, Beba, and Alfamino brands.
The recall is precautionary, with no reported illnesses so far.
The issue stems from a quality problem in the arachidonic acid oil supplier.
Nestle India confirms that all their infant formula brands sold in India are manufactured locally and not affected by the recall.
