Marico Expects Double-Digit Q2 Revenue and Mid-Twenties Profit Growth
Marico sells products such as hair oil and cooking oil.
The company expects its sales to grow strongly in the second quarter of FY27.
Its India business saw strong sales volumes, especially for Parachute Coconut Oil and value-added hair oils.
Saffola Oils grew through higher prices, even though fewer units were sold.
Marico’s food and personal care businesses also kept growing.
Its international business did well, led by Vietnam, the Middle East and South Africa.
Some input costs rose, but copra, an important raw material, remained below its peak price.
Marico expects its profit from operations and gross margin to improve.
It also says its first-half performance may help it exceed its near-term goals.
Marico expects Q2FY27 consolidated revenue to grow at a double-digit rate and operating profit to rise in the mid-twenties.
India underlying volume growth is expected to reach double digits, with Parachute Coconut Oil and value-added hair oils among the strongest performers.
Saffola Oils had mid-single-digit price-led growth, while volumes declined after Marico rationalised supplies of select variants to maintain profitability.
Foods and premium personal care continued to grow; the international business is expected to post growth in the teens in constant-currency terms.
Marico expects year-on-year gross margin improvement and says first-half performance puts it on track to surpass near-term guidance.
