Assam Police Seize Six Musk Deer Pods in Smuggling Bust

Assam Police stopped a suspected wildlife-smuggling operation.

The raid happened at Medhikuchi in Kamrup Metro.

Police arrested two men from Arunachal Pradesh.

They found six musk deer bladders weighing 158 grams.

These bladders are also called musk pods.

Musk is valuable because it is used in some traditional medicines, perfumes, and cosmetics.

Police say the pods were taken from Arunachal Pradesh and were going to be moved to international illegal markets.

The Himalayan Musk Deer is endangered, so hunting it is illegal and harms wildlife.

The suspects are being questioned while legal proceedings begin.
