Delhi SIR Notices Expand to Advani, Sisodia and Other Leaders

Election officials in Delhi are checking voter records during a process called a Special Intensive Revision, or SIR.

Several well-known people received notices because officials found problems or could not match their records.

L.K. Advani, two family members and BJP MLA Kailash Gahlot’s family were listed under “no mapping.”

Manish Sisodia, his wife and son were also listed with different kinds of mismatches.

The reports say Jayant Advani successfully cleared the mapping exercise.

Officials said people who received notices would be helped to provide documents for verification.

More than 3.3 million voter records were flagged in the larger exercise.

Some political figures expressed concern that voters could eventually be removed from the electoral rolls.
