BJP Jharkhand Announces Aditya Sahu as President

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jharkhand has announced that Aditya Sahu will be the next state president.

He was the only nominee for the position, and his election is considered a formality.

The nomination process took place on January 13, 2024, from 12 noon to 2 pm at the BJP headquarters in Ranchi.

The scrutiny of nomination papers followed from 2 pm to 3 pm, and candidates could withdraw their nominations between 3 pm and 5 pm.

The official declaration of the elected state president and National Council members will be made on January 14, 2024, at 2 pm.

The election process is being conducted under the guidance of the BJP’s national election authority, Dr. K. Laxman, with Union Minister Jual Oram appointed as the state election officer.

The nomination was proposed by a broad cross-section of the party leadership, including current state president Babulal Marandi, former Union minister Kariya Munda, former chief minister Raghubar Das, and several other senior leaders.

The organizational elections also covered the National Council, where 21 nominations were filed for 21 available seats, rendering that exercise uncontested as well.

The results for these positions will also be declared on January 14.
