Reddy Advocates Child Rights Awareness in Telangana
Seetha Dayakar Reddy, who is in charge of protecting children's rights in Telangana, visited Karimnagar to talk about how important it is for everyone to know about children's rights.
She went to many places that help children, like hospitals and schools, to make sure they are doing a good job.
She also met with important people in the district to discuss ways to make things better for children.
She suggested that people who lead villages should learn about child rights, and that schools for children who are blind or deaf should get special help.
She also talked about keeping children safe from mosquitoes and making sure they have enough electricity during the summer.
She praised the efforts to help children of workers who move from place to place and asked for more children like them to be enrolled in school.
Seetha Dayakar Reddy emphasized the need for widespread public awareness on children’s rights and related laws during her visit to Karimnagar district.
She recommended that child rights be made a mandatory part of Sarpanch training programmes and suggested the involvement of Child Rights Protection Committee members in these sessions.
The team inspected several child welfare and healthcare facilities, including the Government General Hospital, Chinthakunta Anganwadi Centre, and various schools for the blind and deaf.
Reddy suggested examining the feasibility of establishing a mother’s milk bank and called for steps to ensure that students at ashram schools for the blind and deaf receive disability pensions directly at the schools.
