China Emissions Fell in Q2 Due to Oil Use Drop

China's emissions of carbon dioxide, which contribute to global warming, went down in the second quarter of the year.

This happened because China used less oil, especially for transportation.

The reason for the drop in oil use was that the war between the US and Iran made it harder to ship oil from the Middle East to China.

Experts say this situation has helped China use more electric vehicles in industries like construction and mining.

China is the biggest emitter of greenhouse gases in the world, but it has plans to reduce these emissions and become carbon neutral by 2060.

In the first quarter, emissions actually went up by 2%, so overall, they are only slightly higher in the first half of the year.

Recently, China's solar energy capacity has surpassed that of coal-fired power for the first time, showing growth in renewable energy.
